The Central Government has allocated a sum of ₹1,968.87 crores to disburse Diwali bonuses to a total of 11,07,346 railway employees. This payment is a testament to the outstanding performance of railway personnel, who have transported approximately 15,009 million tonnes of goods and served nearly 6.5 million passengers to their destinations. Acknowledging the dedication and hard work of these employees, the Modi Cabinet has approved this year’s bonus.
Railway Bonus 2023 Update
Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet meeting has granted approval for a bonus equivalent to 78 days’ wages for the financial year 2022-23. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced that the railway employees will receive a productivity-linked bonus equivalent to 18 days’ wages. This decision to provide a non-gazetted railway employee with Diwali bonus will offer relief during inflation. This year, railway employees will celebrate Diwali with enthusiasm and zeal.
